Meagan Dyrland- Dance Instructor

Miss Meagan has 25+ years of dance experience and over 10 collective years of teaching experience. She has trained in a wide variety of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Irish, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap and Heels, as well as numerous other commercial styles. She grew up competing around Edmonton and all over Western Canada, and quickly fell in love with everything dance. 

Her career has led her to perform, compete and train in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Toronto, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York. She has trained under many big names such as Galen Hooks, Brinn Nicole, Yanis Marshall, Jojo Gomez, Colt Prattes and many more!

Meagan is part of the Galen Hooks Method Alumni; she attended an industry intensive in LA under Galen Hooks, focusing on personal, creative and professional development. She learned specific industry training and tips, which have helped her in both her personal dance career as well as her teaching career. 

Over the years she has performed at many music festivals for audiences of around 15,000 people, as well as other shows and events throughout Alberta, performing both choreographed routines and freestyle sets. She has danced for many artists including Loud Luxury (the artists of hit songs “Body” and “Love No More”) and Rezz (one of the artists behind the song “Someone Else”). More recently, Miss Meagan has started to focus on her love of more “behind the scenes” roles when it comes to dance and performance, and has choreographed for many companies, organizations and local artists around the Edmonton area.

She attended Dance Teacher University - UNLV, a certificate program run by The University of Nevada Las Vegas & Dance Teacher Web; obtaining her full certification. As part of the program, she trained under local studio owners, University Professors and professional Choreographers and Trainers for Las Vegas residency shows, such as Cirque du Soleil and Le Reve. She took classes in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Early Childhood, Anatomy and Injury Prevention with regard to dance education. In addition, she has also obtained her Alixa Flexibility Module One and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.

Throughout her teaching career, many of her groups have won Choreography, Most Outstanding and Adjudicator’s Choice Awards, and have gone on to dance in finals at several competitions and festivals. Her soloists have also gone on to win awards and scholarships, and she never gets tired of seeing the joy her students have when they see their hard work and dedication pay off.

Dance is her passion and she continues to train, take classes and further her education, so that she can provide her students with the most comprehensive and up to date industry training. She is also passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers, and creating a safe environment for her students to learn, grow and be the best version of themselves!
