Dana Desrochers- Dance Instructor

Dana grew up in Southern Alberta and started taking dance classes at the age of 4, starting with jazz and tap, at the age of 11switched studios and added lyrical, ballet and musical theatre.

After graduating from high school Dana took her Early Childhood Development Diploma at Lakeland College. Dana continued taking dance through college and into adulthood. Dana had opportunities to dance in the Opening Ceremonies of the World Athletics and the Master Games as well as being a guest dancer at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Here she added classes in hip hop and contemporary.

In 2003 she opened Dana’s Academy of Dance, offering classes such as creative movement, jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre, and contemporary adding acro years later. Over the years she became certified in: Zumba, Zumbatomic, Cechetti Junior Grades Ballet, International Dance Teaching Standards and Acrobatic Arts. Dana closed her studio in May 2021, in September of the same year her own children joined the ODF family.

Dana currently works as an educational assistant in the mornings and a pre-school teacher in the afternoons. Dance has been a major part of Dana’s life and she is happy to continue to share her love of dance and teaching as part of the ODF family.
