Alyssa Phillips - Owner/Director/Teacher

Miss Alyssa has grown up dancing in St. Albert her whole life starting at the young age of three. She has been trained in ballet (ISTD), tap (ISTD, Al Gilbert), Jazz, Modern/Jazz (ISTD), lyrical, hip hop, modern, and musical theatre. She has completed all her ISTD international ballet exams, achieving her Intermediate II certificate as well as exams in ISTD Tap and ISTD jazz/modern international exams.

Miss Alyssa started student teaching at the age of 12 and by the age of 15 had the honour of instructing her own classes. Over the years she has taught a variety of disciplines and has been awarded numerous choreography awards. Through this period her students have had a big impact on her professional and personal life, many shaping her as the teacher she is today.

Miss Alyssa has had the opportunity to perform and travel with a dance company. From a young age she performed yearly at the Peach Festival in Penticton, BC. Performing at Disneyland and California Adventure was one of the highlights of her dance career. Miss Alyssa is an original member of Eye Candy Company and has competed throughout Alberta where her team held numerous first place awards. In 2012, her group represented team Canada in The World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where they proudly brought home second place overall. 

Miss Alyssa attends many dance conventions where she continues to learn and grow as a dancer and a teacher. She has attended such conventions as West Coast Dance Explosion (Las Vegas), WCOPA (Los Angeles), Street Groove, GrooveStreet, and Triple Threat. She also travelled to New York City (Broadway Dance Centre) and Los Angeles (The Edge) to train, where she learned new styles such as dance hall, african, and street jazz. 

In 2013 Miss Alyssa attended Grant MacEwan University and received a certificate for Medical Office Assistant where she now works in her field for a specialist office. During Miss Alyssa's free time you can find her chasing around her nephews and spending time with family and friends. 

Opening a dance studio has been a dream of Miss Alyssa's for so long and she cannot wait to share her passion of dance with you.
